AI Translate Editor Button for Joomla

Translate Joomla articles with AI in one click

Adds an AI Translate button below the article editor. Ideal for multilingual sites that create translated copies of articles. Translate the whole article or only the selected text.

Features

• Translates article content while keeping HTML tags, links, classes and shortcodes intact
• Translates Title, Meta Description (max 160 chars), Meta Keywords and generates a Latin-letter Alias at the same time
• Replace the original, or keep it and append the translation below
• Define any target languages you need
• Extra instructions for tone, glossary and brand names that must stay untranslated
• Supports Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI and OpenAI-compatible APIs such as Google Gemini
• Up to 2 fallback providers: switches automatically on exhausted credit, invalid key, rate limit or server error, and switches back when the main provider recovers
• Automatic retry when a model is temporarily overloaded
• API key stays on the server; every request is protected by a CSRF token and permission check

How to use

1. Install the zip via System → Install → Extensions and enable the plugin
2. Enter your AI provider's API key in the plugin settings
3. Open an article, click "AI Translate" below the editor, choose the language and click Translate

Please note

• You need your own API key from an AI provider. AI usage costs are separate from the plugin price (Google Gemini may offer a free quota, subject to Google's terms)
• Always review translations before publishing
• Very long articles are limited to 60,000 characters per request (adjustable)
