PromptPay QR Payment

Accept PromptPay QR payments seamlessly in PrestaShop, from checkout to post-purchase. Customers no longer need to ask for bank account details and can return to scan and pay whenever they’re ready.

Key Features

• Automatically generates a PromptPay QR code for the exact order total, ensuring the payment amount matches the order.

• Orders are assigned the “Awaiting PromptPay QR Payment” status instead of being marked as paid.

• While payment is pending, customers can access the QR code from:

  • Order confirmation email (the QR code is automatically appended to the email).

  • Order confirmation page.

  • My Account > Order History > Order Details.

  • PDF invoice (downloadable from the order details page).

• Administrators can view the QR code on the back office order page.

• Once an order is marked as paid, the QR code is automatically hidden from the website and newly generated PDFs.

• Supports PromptPay mobile phone numbers (10 digits) and Thai national ID numbers (13 digits).

• Masks the PromptPay ID, displaying only the last 4 digits on the order details page, PDF invoices, and back office.

• Generates QR codes directly in PHP within the module. No external services or Node.js required.

• Customer-facing text is displayed in Thai or English according to the customer's selected language.

How It Works

1. The customer selects PromptPay QR at checkout.

2. The customer places the order, which is assigned the awaiting payment status.

3. The customer scans the QR code from the website or PDF invoice and pays using a banking app.

4. The store verifies the incoming payment and changes the order status to “Payment Accepted.”

System Requirements

• PrestaShop 1.7.6 or later / 8.x.

• PHP GD extension.

• Store currency must be THB. This payment option is hidden if the cart uses a currency other than THB.

• A PDF font that supports Thai characters, consistent with the rest of the invoice.

Installation

1. Upload the ZIP file through the Module Manager.

2. Enable the module and enter the PromptPay ID on the module configuration page.

3. Go to Design > Positions to arrange the payment methods in your preferred order.

Upgrading from version 1.1.0: You can upload the new ZIP file over the existing installation. The module will automatically create the new order status and register the required hooks.

Important Notes

• Automatic payment verification is not supported. Administrators must verify incoming payments manually and update the order status to indicate that payment has been received.

• The awaiting payment status is configured to generate an invoice so customers can download a PDF containing the QR code. Consequently, an invoice number is issued before payment. To disable this behavior, change the invoice setting for the order status.

• The QR code supports amount-based transfers only. It does not embed an order reference in the QR code.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the order status update automatically after the customer pays?
No. The store must verify the payment and update the order status manually.

Can customers access the QR code after leaving the checkout page?
Yes. They can return to Order History or download the PDF invoice, provided the order is still awaiting payment.

Does the module support other currencies?
No. Only THB is supported.

Does the module support PromptPay e-Wallet IDs or tax identification numbers?
This version supports only 10-digit mobile phone numbers and 13-digit Thai national ID numbers.
